VDOT’s Weekly Hampton Roads Lane Closures Report for Feb. 11-17

HAMPTON ROADS — VDOT’s list of full closures of interstates, ramps, bridges and primary roads, and single-lane closures at the bridge-tunnels the week of Feb. 11-17.

Scheduled closures are subject to change based on weather conditions and other factors.

Bridges and Tunnels

Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel, I-64:  

  • Mobile, single-lane closures westbound Feb. 12-15 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel, I-664: 

  • Alternating, single-lane closures southbound Feb. 11-15 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Alternating, mobile, single-lane closures northbound Feb. 13 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
  • Alternating, mobile, single-lane closures southbound Feb. 15 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

High Rise Bridge, I-64: 

  • Single-lane closures eastbound Feb. 14-15 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

James River Bridge, Route 17: 

  • Brief, intermittent stoppages in both directions:
    • Feb. 11-15 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.
    • Feb. 12-16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Single-lane closures in both directions Feb. 12-16 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

HRBT Expansion Project:

Elizabeth River Tunnels (Downtown/Midtown Tunnels):

  • Information from Elizabeth River Tunnels for maintenance schedules and lane closures on the Downtown Tunnel (I-264), Midtown Tunnel (U.S. 58) and MLK Expressway (Route 164).

I-64

I-64, Southside Widening, High Rise Bridge Expansion:

I-64, Hampton Roads Express Lanes:  

Hampton: 

  • Brief, intermittent stoppages on I-64 west from LaSalle Avenue (exit 265) and the Hampton River Bridge Feb. 11-15 from 11:59 p.m. to 4 a.m.
  • Long-term, continuous single-lane closure on I-64 in both directions, reducing travel lanes from three to two lanes between Settlers Landing Road/Woodland Road (exit 267) and LaSalle Avenue (exit 265A), with I-64 west traffic shifted to the I-64 east lanes. View the full traffic alert.

Norfolk, Reversible Roadway:

  • Full closure in both directions:
    • Feb. 10-11 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Feb. 11-15 from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.
    • Feb. 12-16 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
    • Consecutively from 8 p.m. on Feb. 16 until 3 a.m. on Feb. 19
