HISTORIC TRIANGLE — Part beagle, part foxhound and all attitude, Ferris Bueller (no, not THAT Bueller but, definitely named after the ’80s icon) is a one-year-old pup who loves to head out on adventures and explore new places and meet people.
Ferris prefers to hang around outside in the dirt. Therefore, he must be bathed often. Washing him and his big sister becomes quite a task. This week, we headed off to Muddy Marley’s Dog Wash to get lathered up.
The locally owned and operated shop, located in the Williamsburg Shopping Center, is bright and clean. Muddy Marley’s offers full-service grooming in addition to having self-serve dog wash stations.
The self-service option allows families to come in to use the pre-sanitized stations and supplies without dealing with the mess. Additionally, the staff is available to help educate and assist the clients as needed.
“Grooming your dog is so important for the health of their coat and skin. Brushing and bathing are twofold, not only for your pet’s health but also as a way to bond with your dog,” Rebecca Mulvain, owner, “It is not only about the hygiene, but also the connection you can grow with your pet.”
Zoe McFadden, a groomer at Muddy Marley’s, was kind and attentive to Ferris’ needs. McFadden said, “I love everything about working here. I love working with all the dogs.”
Ferris practically strutted out of Muddy Marley’s, tail wagging high and showing off his cool new bandana. Obviously a happy (and now clean!) pup!
Muddy Marley’s Dog Wash is open six days a week. The shop has a selection of grooming products and tools for sale along with some cool treats. Contact Muddy Marley’s to schedule your appointment and follow their Instagram account to see happy pups!
Happen to spot Ferris out on an adventure? Come say hello! If you have a dog-friendly suggestion you would like Ferris to consider covering or visiting, please email his mom. Hounds are not very good at responding.
