Company looking for someone to put out the Welcomemat

VIRGINIA BEACH — In an effort to connect new residents to local businesses, Welcomemat Services is eyeing a local location, and is looking for the right person to expand their franchise.

Welcomemat provides “highly targeted local marketing” that benefits both people who are new homeowners or new to a community, as well as the local businesses that offer the services and products they need.

The core focus, said CEO Brian Mattingly, is helping people.

“Virginia Beach is a place we need to be,” Mattingly said. “We help people who have just moved get acclimated to their new community and we help local business owners find new customers.”

Thus, everyone benefits he said, both new movers and existing businesses.

But before Welcomemat can get to the city, they need to identify – and approve – someone to open a local franchise.

“We’re pretty strict and there are certain things we look for in a franchise owner,” Mattingly said.

The concept behind the services Welcomemat provides are a century old, but with a lot more technology involved.

“It’s super important that we make that distinction – there’s a lot of technology in the mix. We’re very data-driven and everything is trackable,” he said, adding that email and social media also play a part.

Welcomemat is headquartered in Atlanta, with franchises in 25 U.S. states.

Information about Welcomemat Services and what they provide can be found online, as can information about franchise opportunities.
