YORKTOWN 一 Chipotle welcomed customers in at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday with the grand opening of the restaurant located on George Washington Memorial Highway.
The Mexican counter-service restaurant saw several people lined up to be the first in the location. On Oct. 25, there was a friends and family invite event that Sean Peters, the Chipotle restaurateur, said saw a number of individuals attend.
Peters spent the past three years as a general manager in Richmond, where he built close relationships with his team. He said building and developing a new team from the ground up in Yorktown is meaningful to him.
“It’s exciting to [build a team] in a brand new setting, with a brand new store and a team of brand new people which is already coalescing and coming together,” Peters said.
Anne Daniel was one of the customers waiting for the store to open.
“I love Chipotle, and I’m glad they’re finally open,” said Daniel.
The new Chipotle is located at 5626 George Washington Memorial Highway in Yorktown and open daily from 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. The restaurant is hiring.
“The day’s finally here and we’re just excited to start our journey,” said Peters.
