Williamsburg beer lovers can now stop in at the Williamsburg Premium Outlets for a taste of a local brewery.
Alewerks Brewing Company’s tasting room has officially opened in the Williamsburg Premium Outlets, according to a news release from James City County. The brewery’s Facebook page stated the satellite tasting room’s grand opening was Friday.
The 3,000 square foot shop — located next to Columbia Sportswear Company in the outlets — is a micro-brewing facility that will give outlet shoppers a chance to enjoy the 10 beers Alewerks will have on tap. Customers will also be able to buy six-packs, pre-packaged snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, and merchandise.
The tasting room will soon have equipment installed that will allow Alewerks to produce small-batch brews on site.
“We are excited to open and even more excited about being able to brew smaller, more creative batches than previously possible,” Alewerks Managing Director and Brewmaster Geoff Logan said in the release.
The new tasting room will have the same hours of operation as the Premium Outlets — 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and until 7 p.m. Sunday.
Alewerks opened in 2006 and operates its brewery and taproom in the Ewell Industrial Park off Mooretown Road. The taproom will be the sole location for beer releases, entertainment and events.
