LONDON — One local brewery will be among six Virginia craft beverage companies to exhibit at BrewLDN 2021 in the United Kingdom later this month.

The Virginia Beer Company, located at 401 2nd St. in Williamsburg, will exhibit alongside Sly Clyde Ciderworks from Hampton, O’Connor Brewing Company from Norfolk, Port City Brewing Company from Alexandria, Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery from Goochland, and Champion Brewing Company from Charlottesville will be represented during the craft brew trade show.

Because of current travel restrictions as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, representatives from the companies chosen to participate in the event will be unable to attend in-person. Instead, the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (VDACS) Office of International Marketing will utilize a trade representative in the United Kingdom as a representative of the Virginia companies.

BrewLDN is an international industry trade show which provides a very large platform for the latest innovations in craft brewing and cider production. According to VDACS, the United Kingdom is noted is being the second-largest export destination for American craft beer, with it accounting for more than ten percent total exports.

“In recent years, Virginia craft beverages have seen success in the U.K. market and we are excited to share new brews in addition to established favorites,” said VDACS Commissioner Brad Copenhaver in a July 16 press release. “Our marketing staff and U.K. trade representative will work to connect these Virginia craft beverage companies with sales partners, trade buyers and industry influencers in this important export destination.”
