WILLIAMSBURG — The Williamsburg Aviation Scholarship Program Board of Directors announced on April 15 its decision to extend the deadline for the Williamsburg Aviation Scholarship Program (WASP). The new deadline is 11:59 p.m. (EST) on April 30, 2021.
First reported in WYDaily on March 21, the scholarship is designed for rising junior and seniors who attend high schools in Hampton Roads who want to pursue a career in aviation to receiving funding towards training. Up to seven recipients will receive $11,000 towards fifty flight hours in order to obtain their FAA Private Pilot’s License (PPL).
