While crews have plowed a majority of roads, Greater Williamsburg is still feeling the effects of last week’s snowstorm.

Both Williamsburg-James City County Public Schools and York County School Division have canceled school again due to road conditions, making Monday the third snow day since the snowstorm last week.

For parents who need to go back to work – or just need a break – there are some options.

The Williamsburg Regional Library is hosting a series of games, movies and craft sessions Monday at both library locations to keep students busy.

Here is a schedule of events:

  • 11:00 am – ‘Ice Age Meltdown’
    1:00 pm – ‘Snowball Express’
    3:00 pm – ‘Frozen’
  • 11:00-3:00 – Open crafts
  • All Day – Open play games and activities
  • At JCC library:
    11:00-3:00 – Open crafts
  • All Day – Open play games and activities

The R.F. Wilkinson YMCA on Mooretown Road in Williamsburg is also offering snow daycare to help with “cabin fever,” according to their Facebook page.

Activities include games, swim time, and more.

The cost is $19 for members and $26 for non-members.

Space is limited, so please email Brooke.Wilkerson@peninsulaymca.org to sign your child(ren) up!
