As Greater Williamsburg says goodbye to 2017 and welcomes the New Year, many families in the area are looking to celebrate outside of the house.
Here’s a list of restaurants in Williamsburg, and James City and York counties open on both New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Many of the restaurants ask patrons to call ahead or make a reservation before dining.

New Year’s Eve Events
In addition to restaurants open on both days, there will be New Year’s Eve parties at Amber Ox and the Hound’s Tale on Prince George Street in Williamsburg. Click here to learn more.
The DoubleTree by Hilton in southern James City County is hosting a “New Year’s Eve Extravaganza,” according to a flyer for the event.
Live music, comedy shows, and “chef created stations” will round out the event at the hotel.

Further out at the James City County Marina, Billsburg Brewery is throwing a bash with a ball drop. The brewery will be open from 12 – 9 p.m., but a special ticket will give patrons access to the brewery’s New Year’s Eve event B2NYE, according to owner Dave Baum.
Tickets are $50 each, or $80 for a couple. All you can eat oysters and two drink tickets will be included with each entry ticket, Baum wrote in an email.
Live music starts at 8 p.m. before an intermission at 9:30 p.m. for fireworks. The music starts back up again at 10 p.m. and runs to midnight, according to Baum.
At midnight, Baum said, the brewery’s set to drop a New Year’s Eve ball.
