Bank robbery at Chesapeake Bank in Lightfoot

 James City County Police are looking for a man they say robbed Chesapeake Bank in Lightfoot Monday afternoon.

Police responded to the Chesapeake Bank after receiving reports of an armed robbery, according to a police press release.

 

According to James City County Police spokeswoman Stephanie Williams, officers received a call at 3:41 p.m. reporting a robbery at the bank, located at 6619 Richmond Rd.

Williams said the man gave a bank employee a note saying he had a gun, but did not display a firearm.

Officers set up cruisers on roads at various locations throughout the county, looking for the alleged robber, Williams said.

Police are looking for a six-foot-tall black male, about 35-40 years old. He was wearing a black t-shirt, blue jeans, gray baseball hat and white shoes.

Police ask anyone who can identify or provide information on the suspect to call 757-253-1800, or do so anonymously via the crime line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
