
Police arrested a man who approached another man in a parking garage near the Yorktown waterfront early Saturday morning and threatened him with a gun, following a verbal altercation.
Tyler S. Kempton 21, of Yorktown turned himself in to police on March 25, later that same day, and he was charged with brandishing a firearm, according to York-Poquoson Sheriff”s Office arrest report.
Kempton was taken to the Virginia Regional Peninsula Jail following his arrest. The victim was not injured during the incident.
Police believe Kempton was in a lower parking garage in the 300 block of Water Street down by the Yorktown waterfront at 1:40 a.m, Saturday morning.
He approached a 27-year-old man also in the garage. The two had an argument and then Kempton took out a semi-automatic pistol, placing it along his waist. Police did not say whether the two men knew each other.
The victim felt threatened and called police.
