Delaware man arrested in connection with Norfolk shooting

NORFOLK — A Delaware man is facing multiple charges after police say he shot and injured a 31-year-old woman in a Norfolk home on Thursday night.

Police were on patrol when they responded to gunshots in the 1600 block of Harmon Street around 9 p.m. When they arrived they saw a man running from the scene, according to a Norfolk Police Department news release.

After a foot chase, police detained 23-year-old Antoine Harris. He was arrested and charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and shooting in an occupied dwelling.

Harris is currently being held without bond in the Norfolk City Jail.

During their search for Harris, police found a woman who was seriously injured from a gunshot wound in a home in the 1600 block of Harmon Street. She was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital and is expected to survive her injuries.
