UPDATE: Shaniyah Carter was found safe at a friend’s house.
NORFOLK — Police are asking for the public’s assistance with locating a nine-year-old girl who didn’t come home from school Monday.
Shaniyah Carter was last seen at Coleman Place Elementary School around 3:30 p.m. Monday. Carter left the school on foot rather than getting on her bus, police said.
Carter was last seen wearing a tan jacket, burgundy shirt and carrying a blue and black camouflage backpack.
