A man is in jail after police say he committed a string of crimes in Norfolk on Monday night.
Hakeem Graham, 26, of the 7400 block of Fenner Street, is accused of fleeing from the scene of a car crash near the intersection of Bayview Boulevard and Tidewater Drive around 7:50 p.m., according to a Norfolk Police Department news release.
Police say Graham left the scene of the crash and ran to a nearby 7-Eleven, located at 8594 Tidewater Drive. While at the store, Graham assaulted two people and stole a truck.
Graham tried to flee the store in the stolen truck, but rear ended another car in the 7500 block of Tidewater Drive. He tried to leave the scene of the second accident when the driver of the other car, Henry Luschei, 24, fired a gun at him, the release states.
No one was injured by the gun fire. Police arrested both Graham and Luschei. Graham was charged with felony hit and run, carjacking and two counts of assault and battery. Luschei was charged with reckless handling of a firearm.
Both men are being held at the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
