Edgardo B. Abutin, 69, passed away Friday, Dec. 30, 2016. He was born in Rosario, Cavite, Philippines, and was the son of the late Eustaquio P. Abutin and Paz Lopez Abutin.
Edgardo retired from the U.S. Navy as a master chief petty officer with 28 years of service. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
Edgardo is survived by his wife, Daisy Pueblo Abutin; son, Glenn Abutin of Virginia Beach; daughter, Sheryl Kalmbach of Annapolis, Md.; two granddaughters, Minah and Ailani Kalmbach; and three siblings.
The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, and Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church by the Rev. Fr. Merlito Ablog. Burial will be in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery.
