The Cox girls soccer team won the Coastal Conference regular season title and starts its 6A South Region title defense against Western Branch. First Colonial is fresh off a 1-0 win over Landstown in the conference tournament final to earn a date with Grassfield on Tuesday.

Cox won the Coastal Conference regular season crown and was riding a 11-0-1 streak before a 3-2 loss to Landstown in the conference tournament semifinal. Still, the Falcons have been the hottest Beach team and carry not only a wealth of experience, but the extra motivation to win a state championship after their recent near misses. Ryanne and Alex Davidson anchor an offense that can erupt at any moment.
First Colonial at Grassfield, 5:30 p.m. Tuesday
The Patriots closed the regular season and conference tournament with four straight wins, but they managed only one goal in each of their last three matches after averaging 5 goals per game all season. A highly anticipated regular season meeting between these clubs in April was cancelled because of rain. Grassfield, which lost one game all year, to Cox, is just as formidable on both ends of the field.
