Norfolk Collegiate, Maury High and nine other Hampton Roads schools of the Virginia Interscholastic Sailing Association competed in the Virginia High School Leukemia Cup Regatta in support of the Leukemia Lymphoma Society at Christchurch. The teams raised $3,000 for LLS.

The Christchurch Seahorses claimed the top two spots in the race. Norfolk Collegiate’s Oaks 1 team finished third. See the full results here.

Local high school racing ramps up with the coed Virginia state championship on May 21 and the Virginia women’s state championship on May 22 at the Youth Sailing Virginia facility at Fort Monroe in Hampton.

CORRECTION: A previous version of this article incorrectly identified the May 21 state championship as a men’s competition. It is coed.
