Welcome to Southside Daily’s look at the best high school baseball teams by record in Virginia Beach.

Add “seventh-inning comeback” to the list of ways First Colonial has stayed unbeaten this season, after plating four runs Tuesday in a late rally against Cox. Patriots starting hurlers Justin Cook (0.0 ERA, 15 K’s in 19 innings), Nick Graziano (five wins, 2.92 ERA) and Tommy Green (1.09 ERA, four wins) have been dominant, while six starters are batting over .340.

Ocean Lakes has won eight of its last 10 games and looked dominant against Kellam on Tuesday before the Knights’ late rally. The Dolphins get a chance to even their season series against Kellam on Friday before preparing for a heavyweight clash with First Colonial next week.

Kellam passed another test on Tuesday with a comeback win against Coastal power Ocean Lakes. The young Knights look to build off what coach St. Clair Jones called a turning point in their season as conference play heats up.

Cox has dropped two games in a row after nearly handing First Colonial its first loss of the season at home on Tuesday. The Falcons get a rematch Friday when they face the Patriots again.

Green Run has relied on the arm and bat of ace Chris Guilles. The senior has posted a 1.50 ERA with 40 strikeouts in 32 2/3 innings (2-2 record) while hitting for a team-high .433 average.

Records as of Wednesday, April 27:

  • First Colonial (13-0)
