Local homebuilder Wayne Harbin Builder has been named custom builder member of the year by Southern Living Magazine’s custom builder program.
The company consists of Wayne Harbin and his sons who now run the daily operations of the business, Doug and Brad. They will all be featured in June’s issue of the magazine, which showcases Southern living through food, home, garden and travel.
Wayne Harbin Builder, which has been a part of the magazine’s custom builder program since 2002, was picked as the winner for its presentation of the Southern living showcase home Harrison’s Place in Ford’s Colony.
The home received more than 1,300 ticketed visitors during three weekends last fall. It was marketed by Liz Moore and Associates and the interior design was done by Christine Vaughan Estep of Jackson Thomas Interiors.
“They represent the best our Program has to offer,” said Kristen Bryan, the associate marketing director for Southern Living. “Their tremendous ability as a builder and their sincere desire to serve their clients well have definitely contributed to their success and set them apart in this profession.”
The program is an invitation-only network of about 100 builders from around the nation. Each builder is hand selected based off its reputation, quality of design and construction, integrity and stability.
Wayne Harbin Builder was founded in 1985 and builds homes across the Virginia Peninsula.
Two Rivers Country Club Names New Food and Beverage Director
Bilyal “Bill” Vehov has been promoted to food and beverage director at Two Rivers Country Club at Governor’s Land in James City County.
Vehov will be responsible for overseeing two restaurants, the wine shop and for special event dining. He will also be in charge of business development and growing the country club’s revenue, along with the continued development of the club’s wine offerings.
“The best part of being on the team at Two Rivers Country Club is how personable everyone here is and the team’s dedication to providing an excellent dining experience,” Vehov said in a news release announcing his promotion. “My goal is to continue to provide first-class country club amenities and facilities to our members and guests.”
Vehov began working at Two Rivers Country Club in 2010 as the assistant manager of food and beverage operations. He has also worked at the Williamsburg Lodge.
Nonmembers can use Two Rivers Country Club for meetings and special events. It is capable of hosting up to 500 guests in an outdoor tent or 190 guests indoors.
