For the Kids
Enjoy a free night of family fun with a movie night on Friday organized by James City County Parks and Recreation. The evening, starting at 6 p.m. at the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center, includes a family movie, games, crafts and more.
For those looking for some time away from their children, JCC Parks and Recreation is also offering Parent’s Night Out: A Winter Wonderland. Caregivers can drop off children for dinner, snowman building, cookie baking and a showing of “Frozen.” It starts at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the JCC Recreation Center.
Learn Something New
The Williamsburg Chapter of USA Dance will hold its monthly lesson on dance Saturday at Quarterpath Recreation Center. The lesson starts at 7:30 p.m., followed by general dancing until 10:30 p.m.
“Getting Started in Beekeeping” will give attendees the chance to learn more about the practice. The free event will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Williamsburg Regional Library, and is presented by the Colonial Beekeepers Association.
This and That
Newt and Callista Gingrich will be at the William & Mary Bookstore on Saturday as part of Grand Illumination weekend. The pair will be signing their newest books, “Breakout” by Newt Gingrich and “From Sea to Shining Sea” by Callista Gingrich, from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday.
