Blue Talon’s Turkey Trot to Return for Thanksgiving Race

blue talonRace off anticipated Thanksgiving calories at a 5k to be held the morning of next week’s food-centered holiday.

Blue Talon Bistro will host its annual Turkey Trot on Nov. 27. The 5k starts at 8:30 a.m., with a children’s 1-mile race at 9:30 a.m.

The course starts in Merchants Square and travels through Colonial Williamsburg and the campus of the College of William & Mary before finishing on Prince George Street. Click here to view a map of the route.

An awards ceremony starts at 10 a.m. in the parking lot behind Blue Talon Bistro, which will include croissants and post-race refreshments. There will also be a raffle for wine and gourmet food products.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three male and female racers overall, top three male and female walkers and top three male and female participants in each age group.

Registration for the 5k is $35 until Nov. 26 and $40 on the day of the race. The cost is $15 for the 1-mile fun run.

Packets and timing chips can be picked up between 3 and 7 p.m. Nov. 26 at the Days Inn on Richmond Road, or on race day between 7 and 8 a.m. Register online here.
