The Williamsburg Symphonia, conducted by Janna Hymes, will open its season at the Kimball Theater on Monday, September 29 at 8 p.m. This will be the first of 5 Masterworks series concerts, featuring guest soloists Zuill Baily on cello, Paul Neubauer on Viola, and Akemi Takayama on violin. Monday’s “Opening Night Sensation” will include Overture to Tancredi, by Rossini; Poeme, by Chausson, with violinist Akemi Takayama; Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso, by Saint-Saens, with violinist Akemi Takayama; and Symphony No. 8 in G Major, Dvorak.
