Hometown: Craft Beer Festival to Benefit Local Nonprofits

craft beer festivalCommunity members young and seasoned are teaming up for a day of craft beer sipping to benefit local charities.

The Rotary Club of Williamsburg and the Young Emerging Professionals of Williamsburg are joining for the first time to present the Williamsburg Craft Beer Festival. The event will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at City Square downtown – on the lawn across the street from the Williamsburg Community building – rain or shine.

Guests can sample 20 craft beers from 10 different breweries hailing from as near as Williamsburg and as far as California. See the full list here.

The Hark will provide live music, and there will also be food available for purchase from Paul’s Deli & Restaurant and College Delly.

Tickets are $30 in advance and $35 at the door, with limited space. Click here to purchase online. General admission includes a 16-oz. tasting glass and 25 tastings. Buy five tickets and the sixth is free.

Proceeds from the festival benefit Avalon, Beyond Boobs!, Child Development Resources, Literacy for Life, as well as The Rotary Club of Williamsburg and YEP, both nonprofit organizations.

VIP Tickets are available only in advance for $50 each. They cover a VIP hour with four small-batch, special-release beers, raffles, unlimited tastings and free food from noon to 1 p.m.

Festival sponsors include Howell Creative Group, Local Voice Media (owner of WYDaily, 92.3 The Tide and 107.9 BachFM), Williamsburg Event Rentals, Virginia Green Lawn Care and Whitley’s Peanut Factory.
