Virginia Arts Festival presents the musical event of the season. Acclaimed violinist Joshua Bell joins maestro JoAnn Falletta and the Virginia Symphony Orchestra in three performances, May 2nd, 3rd, and 4th. You’ll hear this great violinist’s lightning bow dancing along the tantalizing twists and turns of Lalo’s Symphonie espagnole ; and then, in a performance to sate the senses, Richard Strauss’s spectacular Alpine Symphony, a magnificent musical journey through the Alps, from flowered meadows to the snow-covered summit–with breathtaking photographic images projected above the stage.
