Get moving this St. Patrick’s Day with a new running group hosted by the DoG Street Pub.
The club hits the pavement for the first time tonight, starting at the restaurant on Duke of Gloucester Street.
The DoG Street Pub Running Club hopes to promote fitness and fellowship in the community through a weekly event for runners of all ability levels. They will meet every Monday evening for a 5k through Colonial Williamsburg and the campus of the College of William & Mary. The course will include mile markers and guiding signs, as well as designated runners to lead the way.
Registration begins at 5 p.m., with runners taking off at 6 p.m.
If it was not obvious, the club is dog-friendly. Families are also welcome for the casual group fitness.
The club is free to join, but participants must sign a waiver of liability. Runners who are under 18 will need a parent or guardian with them to register.
After completing five runs, members will receive an exclusive running club shirt.
There will be specials on pasta and pints at the restaurant after each run. Tonight will feature St. Patrick’s Day fare as well, plus raffle prizes of shirts, glassware, gift cards and more.
The club is sponsored by AleWerks Brewing Company and Iron-Bound Gym.
