Best-selling author David Baldacci will visit the William & Mary Bookstore this Friday. He will be meeting guests and signing his latest book, “King and Maxwell” from 6 to 8 p.m.
Baldacci is a lifelong Virginian who has published 27 novels, many of which have been adapted for film and television.
Published in 1996, Baldacci’s first novel “Absolute Power” jettisoned him to literary fame. It became a major motion picture with Clint Eastwood as director and star.
“King and Maxwell” follows Secret Service agents turned private investigators Sean King and Michelle Maxwell as they track the mystery of a soldier supposedly killed in action in Afghanistan.
The previous five books with King and Maxwell all hit No. 1 on The New York Times bestseller list. The characters had their own TNT television series, “King & Maxwell,” which was canceled earlier this year.
Baldacci and his wife Michelle also established the Wish You Well Foundation in 2002. The foundation supports family and adult literacy in the U.S. Baldacci was in town last October for Literacy for Life’s Reading Between the Wines fundraiser.
The William & Mary Bookstore, a Barnes & Noble, is located at 345 Duke of Gloucester St.
