A private fundraiser on May 3 at the Fat Canary restaurant in Merchant’s Square raised over $25,000 for the Muscarelle Museum of Art at William & Mary.
The fundraiser was held the day before the museum’s Wine & Run for the Roses Wine Auction on May 4, and featured an intimate dinner at Fat Canary with seasonal cuisine by Executive Chef Thomas Power paired with wines from Maison Leroy.
“The Muscarelle Museum of Art was thrilled to partner with the Fat Canary – a staple of fine dining in Williamsburg,” according to Manager of Institutional Advancement at the Muscarelle Christina M. Carroll.
“The dinner generated over $25,000 for the Museum and raised awareness of Williamsburg as an exquisite food and wine location.”
Tickets for the wine auction were $100, and the event was sold out. The museum auctioned off over 1,000 bottles of wine from the French region of Burgundy.
