Hometown: Dancing With Stars Announces Local Lineup

These local folks are ready to give it their all in the 2013 “Dancing With the Williamsburg Stars.”

Twelve well-known locals will be competing in the 2013 edition of “Dancing with the Williamsburg Stars” in March.

The organizers of the event recently announced the line-up for the performance, which benefits Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Virginia Peninsula and Literacy for Life at the Rita Welsh Adult Learning Center. The dancers include community leaders and business owners.

“Last year’s ‘Dancing with the Williamsburg Stars’ was a huge success and the whole event raised the bar to a new level,” said Ken Johnston, event co-chair. “Bringing in close to $80,000, nearly selling out the 700-seat theatre and putting on a show no one will forget was an amazing achievement for our stars and organizations.

“We’re very grateful to our 2012 stars and look forward to another sensational evening in March.”

The dancers will be working with more experienced instructors who will choreograph the routines and perform with their partners in the show, scheduled for March 2. The instructors are from 7 Cities Ballroom in Williamsburg; ArtInspired Studios and Country Bootleggers, both in Yorktown; A Step Above in Virginia Beach; and Amy’s Dance Studio in Newport News.

The dancers are:

  • Ginger Ambler, College of W&M
  •  Brent Barth, Middle Peninsula Insurance
  • Kristin Baum, Guernsey Tingle Architects
  • Michelle Brumfield, BedCrafters by Michelle
  •  Megan Cordova, Sentara Hospital
  •  Sean Driscoll, TowneBank
  •  Scott Johnston, Legacy Productions
  • Pamela Lundberg, Williamsburg Eye Care
  • Bob Pinto, Pinto Chiropractic
  • Geoff Pope, Medical Action Industries
  •  Sherri Stewart, BRG Strategy Group
  • Peter Wendell, Williamsburg Orthodontics

Tickets go on sale in January and can be purchased at the Phi Beta Kappa box office on Jamestown Road, by phone at 221-2674 or online.
