Four W&M Men’s Gymnasts Advance to Individual Event Finals at West Point Open

WEST POINT, N.Y. — The William & Mary men’s gymnastics team opened the 2025 season with a fifth-place finish at the West Point Open hosted by Army on Friday evening.

Ohio State claimed the team title with a 315.8 and was followed by Penn State (312.75), Navy (309.5), Army (308.3), W&M (300.45) and Springfield (300.05).

Highlighting the Tribe’s individual performances were four gymnasts who advanced to Saturday’s individual event finals (7 p.m.) with top-eight finishes. Evan Wilkins led the way and earned a spot in three events – floor (13.0), rings (13.0) and parallel bars (13.0) – while Connor Barrow (vault, 13.55), Zachary Patrick (parallel bars, 13.7) and Evan Sikra (high bar, 13.3) also advanced.

Patrick’s impressive performance tied for second and was career high, while Sikra tied for third with a career best.

Mark Fu was W&M’s top all-arounder with a 73.1, while Luke Tully also competed in all six events (71.0).
