WILLIAMSBURG — Week one of the NFL postseason kicks off this weekend and William & Mary Tribe football alum are taking to the field for a shot at the Super Bowl.

Those suiting up for their respective teams include Detroit Lions offensive tackle Colby Sorsdal, Detroit Lions outside linebacker Nate Lynn, and Baltimore Ravens running back Owen Wright.

When it comes to coaching, the Tribe is also well-represented. Mike Tomlin, head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, graduated from William & Mary in 1995. During his playing days, Tomlin saw action on the gridiron alongside current the Buffalo Bills head coach, Sean McDermott. Washington Commanders Head Coach Dan Quinn coached at the university, spending the 1994 season as defensive line coach.

The head coaches are joined by Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady and assistant coaches DJ Mangas and Christian Taylor. Tomlin has help from fellow Tribe coaching alumni Danny Smith. The Philadelphia Eagles also have a former Tribe coach serving on its staff in passing game coordinator/defensive backs coach Christian Parker.

Other Tribe alumni work in player personnel, including Washington Commanders Brent Caprio and Tyler Claytor and Los Angeles Rams Ted Monago.
