RICHMOND — William & Mary redshirt freshman Carson Rackley was named the 2024 CAA Men’s Cross Country Rookie of the Year, the league announced on Monday.
Along with Rackley, eight other Tribe runners earned All-CAA honors in 2024. Sophomore Hayes Trapp (third), senior Nate Jennings (11th), and junior Brendan DiStefano (12th) joined Rackley on the men’s side, while seniors Arianna DeBoer (7th) and Kyra Holland (8th), juniors Catherine Garrison (10th) and Sofia Istnick (14th), and freshman Molly Weithman (15th) garnered All-CAA honors for the women’s program. The top-15 finishers from the CAA Championships were recognized as all-conference performers.
Rackley finished ninth at the 2024 CAA Men’s Cross Country Championship, crossing the line in 25:09.9. He was the top freshman finisher at the championship. Rackley is the 17th Tribe harrier and first since 2017 to be named the CAA Rookie of the Year for men’s cross country.
The Glen Allen, Va., native competed in five events during the fall. He added a fifth-place finish at the CNU Invitational in helping the Tribe win the team title. Rackley also competed in the NCAA Southeast Region during his rookie campaign.
