WILLIAMSBURG — Ten William & Mary men’s gymnasts will compete as individual qualifiers at the NCAA Championships hosted by Ohio State this weekend.
The Tribe will compete during the second pre-qualifying session on Friday at 7 p.m. The finals will get underway on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Live scores for all sessions will be available at OhioStateBuckeyes.com, while live video will be broadcast at NCAA.com.
The top three individual finishers in all-around and on each event during each pre-qualifying session, who are not already qualified on a team (top three teams qualify) or as an all-around competitor, will advance to Saturday’s finals at 6 p.m. The top eight competitors in all-around and in each event during the finals will garner All-America honors.
W&M standouts competing at the national championship meet include: Aidan Cuy (all-around), Niko Greenly (rings), Will Harrington (floor), Garrett Kasiski (floor), Sam Lee (vault, parallel bars), Ricky Pizem (vault, high bar), Evan Sikra (high bar), Samuel Smith (pommel horse), Evan Wilkins (rings) and Gavin Zborowski (all-around) all earned spots at the national championship meet.
The Tribe’s impressive total of 10 qualifiers is just two shy of the school record (12) set three times (2018, 2019, 2022).
Malcolm Baytop (floor), Alek Kuzmenchuk (rings), Jared Noyman (parallel bars), Trenton Peazant (vault), Pizem (pommel horse) and Wilkins (floor) also earned spots as alternates.
Leading the Tribe will be three standouts who currently rank among the nation’s top 25 – Zborowski (AA, 10th, 75.85), Cuy (AA, 11th, 75.717), and Lee (VT, 19th, 14.5).
