W&M Women’s Gymnastics Places Fifth at GEC Championship

WILLIAMSBURG — The William & Mary women’s gymnastics team concluded its season with a fifth-place finish at the Gymnastics East Conference Championship hosted by Yale on Saturday.

Penn claimed the team title with a 196.725 and was followed by Yale (195.125), Brown (194.450), Southern Connecticut State (193.900), W&M (193.850), West Chester (193.800), Cornell (193.775) and Bridgeport (193.775).

Sarah Kuper highlighted the Tribe’s individual performances and earned first-team all-conference honors on vault by tying for second with a career-high 9.825.

Caroline Blatchford narrowly missed out on all-conference distinction, as she tied for seventh on bars with a career-best 9.825.

Grace Costello was W&M’s top performer on beam (9.775), while she and Hannah Burke posted the Tribe’s best scores on floor with a 9.750.
