WILLIAMSBURG — William & Mary has announced the Tribe’s 2023 football schedule, which is highlighted by five home games at Zable Stadium and a contest at FBS opponent Virginia.
Season tickets are now on sale and can be purchased at TribeAthletics.com.
The Tribe’s exciting slate will begin with a season-opening conference matchup at Campbell on Thursday, Aug. 31. It will mark the first time since 2011 that W&M has opened its season against a league opponent.
The Green & Gold will host Wofford on Sept. 9 for its home opener, as the game will be part of W&M’s Hall of Fame weekend.
A trip to Charleston Southern comes the following weekend, as W&M and the Buccaneers will meet for the first time. The teams will meet again in 2025 when the Buccaneers visit Williamsburg.
Following conference games versus Maine (Sept. 23) and at Elon (Sept. 30), the Tribe will play at Virginia in is annual FBS game on Oct. 7.
After an open date, W&M will return to conference play with a Homecoming Weekend matchup against Towson on Oct. 21 followed by another home game versus Monmouth (Oct. 28), which will highlight Family Weekend.
The Tribe will then travel to UAlbany (Nov. 4) and Hampton (Nov. 11) before concluding its regular season slate at Zable Stadium against longtime rival Richmond in the Capital Cup Game Presented by C&F Bank on Nov. 18. The season finale will mark the 134th matchup between W&M and UR.
Kickoff times will be announced in the coming months.
W&M will look to build upon a tremendously successful 2022 campaign in which it equaled a school record for wins (11) and posted program records for regular season victories (10) and road triumphs (6). Additionally, the Tribe secured a share of the CAA title, earned a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Playoffs and advanced to the quarterfinals.
