Girls Soccer Roundup: HRA Clinches Spot in TCIS Title Game

NavigatorsHampton Roads Academy narrowly defeated Norfolk Academy 1-0 at home Wednesday to earn a berth in the Tidewater Conference of Independent Schools championship game.

The lone Navigators goal came in the first half when Melina Gharbo scored off an assist from Josie Shostak.

With a 1-0 halftime advantage, HRA goalkeeper Michelle Delk helped the Navigators hang on to the shutout victory. Delk logged 10 saves in the winning effort.

HRA (13-2) will now prepare for Friday’s game in the TCIS championship game against an opponent yet to be decided.

Lafayette Shuts Out Bruton

Lafayette’s girls soccer team downed Bruton 3-0 at home on Wednesday.

The Rams are now carrying momentum into the final stretch of the regular season, having won four of their last five games.

Lafayette (5-4) will host Jamestown on Friday, while Bruton (2-7-1) will visit Northampton that same night.

Individual stats were not provided for this game.
