Boys Tennis Roundup: York Tops Lakeland for Conference 27 Title

York’s boys tennis team defended its home court on Wednesday and defeated Lakeland 6-0 in the Conference 27 championship match.

The Falcons proved their dominance on Wednesday, winning the conference championship while dropping just two games over all six singles matches.

Josh McFadden, Erik Moulton, Denis Liu and Alex Arnette all earned 6-0, 6-0 victories against their opponents.

Walter Buck earned a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 2 singles, while Rishit Patel won at No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-1.

York (8-1) will now prepare for play in the Group 3A East tournament.

Warhill’s Season Ends in Conference 25 Semifinals

Warhill’s boys tennis team saw its season come to a close during a 5-1 loss against Poquoson on Wednesday in the Conference 25 semifinals.

After earning a bye in the first round of the tournament, the Lions had to travel to play the Islanders.

The result of Wedneday’s match was similar to Warhill’s previous 8-1 loss to Poquoson on April 28.

Warhill (5-7) will now prepare as its individual players and doubles teams prepare for the Conference 25 tournament.

Individual results were not reported for this match.
