The Colony Cudas captured their second City Meet title in three years after dominating the Greater Peninsula Swimming Association’s annual end-of-season championship meet hosted at Fort Eustis on Saturday.
The Cudas won 18 of the 56 total events en route to accumulating 402 points — more than 150 points higher than runner-up James River Country Club, which edged Colony 232.5-206.5 to win last year’s City Meet championship.
On the boys’ side, Colony was led by Kade and Cole Younger, who combined to win five individual events and also swam legs on the winning 200-medley and 200-freestyle relays. Cole won the 100 IM, 50 backstroke and 50 fly in the 11-12 age division while Kade won the 100 IM and 50 fly in the 13-14 age group.
Jordan and Preston Duncan were also multiple-event winners for Colony. Jordan won the 50 backstroke and 50 freestyle in the 13-14 age division while Preston touched the wall first in the 50 free and 50 back in the 9-10 division.
In the girls’ meet, Leigh-Ann Clark was the leading standout for Colony after collecting three individual gold medals in the 15-18 age group. She won the 100 IM, 50 free and 50 breastroke in addition to helping the Cudas win the 200 freestyle relay.
