Recent Tabb High grad Rachael Brewer has been named to the 4A girls soccer all-state first team, the Virginia High School League announced Wednesday.
Brewer, who will play in the fall at Christopher Newport University, played a starring role on Tabb’s defense that allowed 13 goals in 21 games this season.
Her efforts helped the Tigers reach the state tournament for the first time in school history before suffering a heartbreaking 1-0 loss to Dominion in the 4A state semifinals.
Joining Brewer on the all-state team was Jamestown midfielder Bailey Cristian.
Cristian, a junior who has committed to play for the University of Richmond in 2015, anchored Jamestown’s high-scoring attack in the midfield and finished the season with 12 goals and 13 assists.
