York County History Day to Include Civil War Living History, Cannon Firing and More

YORK COUNTY — The community is invited to learn about York County history on Saturday, April 16.

There will be activities throughout the riverfront for York County History Day. The free event will include Civil War living history, cannon firing, music and more at the Watermen’s Museum, 309 Water St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

There will also be music, storytelling, colonial exhibits and living history at York Hall, 301 Main St., from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Other activities include the York County Sister Cities French Market from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Mob Jack Bay Coffee Roasters Guided Civil War Tours at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., Colonial National Historical Park Visitor Center Fee Free Day from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and a Civil War Battlefield Tour at Newport News Park Discovery
Center at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Special Exhibits will be featured at the York County Historical Museum at York Hall,
On the Hill Gallery, 402 Main St., and American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, 200 Water St.

The Watermen’s Museum will also host their annual Chili Cook-off from noon-3 p.m.
