Andre B. Jones, known affectionately by all who loved him as “AB,” dedicated much of his life to serving his country with honor and pride. He enlisted in the United States Navy on June 20, 1974, and went on to graduate from the Naval Academy. Throughout his distinguished 24-year military career, AB was an outstanding serviceman who earned numerous accolades and accomplishments.
Following his military retirement, he continued his maritime service as a Merchant Marine for two years before transitioning to a fulfilling career in construction with S.W. Day Construction.
Beyond his professional life, AB was a man of diverse talents and passions. An avid fan of everything Chicago, he faithfully cheered on the Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls. He was a skilled pool player, enjoyed working on cars until his illness, and shared a lifelong love for music. Above all, cooking was his true passion, bringing joy and comfort to everyone at his table.
On August 10, 2026, AB peacefully departed this life in his home, fulfilling his final wish, leaving behind a legacy of service, strength, and devotion. His memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
