Lee left this earth on a Wednesday evening, August 19th, to be reunited with his son, Stephen.
He is survived by Denise, his beloved wife of 57 years; his son, Barry; five biological grandchildren, Ryan, Daniel, Sophie, Erika and Emily; an official Goddaughter, Austin, and her son, Brett; several unofficial Goddaughters; Stephen’s wife, Stephanie; and the cousins, that were his family. He also had countless friends in New Kent, Brickshire and Liberty Baptist Church.
Lee was a man of God and being ordained as a deacon was quite an honor, one that he took very seriously. This was his calling and one he was very proud of.
Lee loved his home and could fix anything. He was most at home with building things and maintaining his 2014 Honda Pilot. He was a graduate of Richmond Professional Institute (now VCU) and was so proud of his class ring, which he always wore. Lee was passionate about local issues, which was evident with his membership in the New Kent Veterans, a former member of the New Kent Ruritans and East Hanover Rescue Squad, and working on many local political campaigns. He truly enjoyed being with his family and friends, and he semi-enjoyed traveling with Denise, but was really a homebody.
A celebration of his life will be held 1 PM, Saturday, October 3rd at Liberty Baptist Church. Lee would want to be remembered for the life he lived. Remember him for the laughter and how he helped you.
