Our beloved mother, daughter, wife, sister, and friend, Pepper Jean Hux, went into the arms of Jesus surrounded by her loved ones on July 14, 2026, at just 51 years old.
She was born on April 29, 1975, in Newport News, Virginia by her parents, Joe and Candy Hux. She was raised in Williamsburg, Virginia until she unexpectedly took her last breath.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Richard and Pauley Moore, Dalma and Grace Hux, and her beloved Uncle Leo Ellis, Uncle Clifton and Aunt Mary Hux.
She was a woman full of so much light and spark, which was taken too soon. She graduated from Bruton High School, class of 1993. Moving forward, she went on to receive her Cosmetology license. Pepper loved all things to do with hair, spending time with her family and friends, late night talks with her son, telling her family the “Joke of the Day”, being a dance mom for her daughter, and spending time with the love of her life, Keith Jordan.
She was also notoriously known for being fashionably late to anywhere she went but was always the life of the party. Some of her favorite hobbies were gardening, stargazing, doing arts and crafts, watching and nurturing everyone’s kids, feeding the hummingbirds and all stray animals.
She is survived by her parents, Joe and Candy Hux; spouse, Keith Jordan; son, Tyler Hazelwood; daughter, Olivia Jordan; step-daughter, Shelby Jordan; her grandchildren, Loralei and Delaney Jones; sisters, Holly Hockaday (Keith), Courtney Hux, Lindsey Henry (Randy); her nieces, Savannah Hockaday and Harper Henry; and her nephews, Brayden Hux, Bobby Hockaday, Preston Henry, Tanner Henry and Hunter Hockaday. We can never forget her beloved cats (snuggle buddies) Peaches, Sunshine, Milo, and Bubbles. She will truly be missed by all.
Her service will be held on August 1, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Gospel Way Baptist Church, 6515 Richmond Road, Williamsburg, Virginia. A reception in her memory will follow at the Wellington Clubhouse, 3927 Bournemouth Bend, Williamsburg, Virginia.
A beautiful soul is gone too soon but never forgotten. This is not goodbye, it’s a see you later. Fly high beautiful.
