Craig Daniel Craft, 64, of Newport News, VA, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.
Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, Craig was a devoted husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness, humor, and unwavering love for his family touched the lives of all who knew him.
A 1980 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School in Goldsboro, NC, Craig built a successful career as a master welder, metal fabricator, and professional trade instructor. He enjoyed automotive repair and restoration, was a guitar enthusiast, and was a longtime member of the American Poolplayers Association. Craig will be remembered for his quick wit, infectious laugh, and remarkable ability to bring a smile to those around him. Whether sharing a funny story or delivering a perfectly timed joke, he had a gift for lifting the spirits of others even during life’s most challenging moments. His generous heart, compassionate nature, and enduring sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His memory will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched.
Craig was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Craft. He is survived by his beloved wife of 11 years, Carol Craft; his father, David Craft; his children, Christopher Craft, Steven Craft, and Amanda Craft; his stepson, Max Motley; his cherished grandchildren, Evan Craft and Micah Craft; his sister, Mindy Craft-Beasley (Andrew); his brother, Michael Craft; and many extended family members and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Weymouth Funeral Home with visitation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Craig’s memory to the American Heart Association.
