William Lewis Garrett, 75, of Virginia, passed away on July 2, 2026. He was born on August 6, 1950, in Williamsburg, Virginia, to the late Raymond Lewis Garrett and Iris Goldie Garrett.

William graduated from James Blair High School in 1968 and completed postgraduate study in 1969 before serving his country with honor in the United States Air Force. During his 20-year military career, he served as a Computer Operator. His military service reflected a lifelong commitment to discipline, duty, and responsibility.

He was a man who enjoyed golf, bowling, and Putt-Putt, a sport in which he competed professionally. He also had a lifelong appreciation for Western films, with John Wayne among his favorite actors.

William attended Liberty Baptist Church in Lanexa, Virginia, and later attended at West End Assembly of God in Richmond, Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Lewis Garrett and Iris Goldie Garrett.

He is survived by his sons, Kevin Michael Garrett and Jason Lyle Garrett; his grandchildren, August, Zephan, Everest, Zayden, and Ella; his sister, Kathryn Bridewell and her husband, George Bridewell; his brother, Ronnie Garrett and his wife, Sissy Garrett; his niece, Lauren Walker; his nephew, Cameron Garrett; and extended family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 6:30pm on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, Virginia 23140, with a memorial service beginning at 6:30pm. Interment with military honors will be held at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia, Virginia, at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in William’s memory to support the missionary ministry of his son, Kevin Garrett, through RCE International Missionary.

William Lewis Garrett will be remembered for his service to his country, his character, and the life he lived.
