Harold William Brazie (Amory Funeral Home)

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of Harold “Dan” William Brazie, who left this world on 01 July 2026 at the age of 77. He lived a life defined by faith, service, family, and an unwavering commitment to helping others.

A proud United States Marine, Dan served his country with honor, courage, and dedication from 02 Oct 1968-01 Oct 1970. The values he learned during his military service—integrity, discipline, and selflessness—remained with him throughout his life and were reflected in the way he cared for his family, friends, and community.

Above all else, Dan was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and family man. His greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. Whether gathered around the dinner table, coaching from the sidelines, or simply sharing stories and laughter, he made every moment meaningful. Known as ‘Pops’ or ‘Papa’, his family was the center of his world, and his love for them was constant and unconditional. He spread joy and laughter to his family and friends through poems, videos, and jokes of the day.

For more than 20 years, Dan dedicated countless hours to coaching girls’ basketball along with his best friend Bill Whalen. To him, coaching was about much more than wins and losses. He taught young athletes the importance of teamwork, perseverance, confidence, and respect. He believed in every player who stepped onto the court and inspired generations of young women to believe in themselves both on and off the court. His impact reached far beyond the game, leaving lasting memories and lifelong lessons for the many players and families whose lives he touched.

Those who knew Dan will remember his generous heart, quiet strength, sense of humor, and willingness to lend a helping hand. He lived with purpose, loved deeply, and led by example.

Though he will be greatly missed, his legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the Marines with whom he proudly served, the athletes he mentored, and the countless lives he influenced with his kindness and compassion.

He is survived by his beautiful wife Cheryl, his beautiful daughters Erin (Michael) Kozell, and Beckie (“The Jim”) Helt, his handsome son Kevin (Stephanie) Brazie; his beautiful grandchildren Kalli (Austin), Jordan (Christian), Amaya, Kattilena, Joey, Gemma, McKenna, and Brayden; his beautiful great-granddaughter Maisie; his sister Mary, his sister-in-law Rita, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold & Dolores Brazie; his brothers Anthony & Lawrence; his sister Cynthia (John); and his nephew Justin. He was also an uncle, cousin, friend, and mentor to many.

Per his request, no formal services will be held.

Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever in our hearts.
