Tina Denise Johnson, born in 1971, was raised in Wakefield, Virginia. She peacefully entered eternal rest on Monday, June 15, 2026, at her home in Hampton, Virginia.
Tina lived her life to the fullest. If she wasn’t working, you could often find her spending time with family and friends, frequently asking, “You want to have a party?” Whether it was just the two of you or a house full of people, the number never mattered. She loved shopping, spending time at the beach, enjoying seafood—especially blue crab—listening to reggae music, surrounding herself with vibrant colors, and, on occasion, wearing something glittery. Tina truly loved fashion.
Tina dedicated her life to pampering others. For more than 25 years, she worked as a nail technician, building lasting relationships with her clients through her kindness, talent, and genuine care. She proudly fulfilled her dream of opening and operating her own salon, Signature Tips & Toes in Yorktown, Virginia, where she created a welcoming place for people to laugh, vent, and feel loved. During the last six years of her career, Tina also served at the U.S. Coast Guard Training Center. Whether in her salon or at the Training Center, she found joy in helping others and making people feel special.
A devoted mother, daughter, sister, partner, and friend, Tina possessed a heart that knew no limits. Her kindness was felt by everyone fortunate enough to know her. She offered comfort without hesitation, laughter when it was needed most, and unconditional love to those she held dear. Her warm spirit, gentle wisdom, and infectious smile will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald “Ronnie” Whitney; her sister, Andrea Johnson; and her grandparents, Anderson Ross Johnson and Ruth Hilliard Johnson.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and treasured memories that will forever live in the hearts of those who cherish her: her beloved sons, Craig Clary (Kayla) and Fernando Lewis; her loving daughter, Shyla Lewis; her mother, Charlotte Johnson Hamlin; her brother, Shannon Johnson (Erica); her cherished grandchildren, Zahkai, Nautica, Legacy, and Kaleah Clary; Masiah Doles; Ya’Sein William; Azai Futrell; and Draper and Venus Lewis; her devoted companion, Eric Edmunds; as well as a host of loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and countless genuine friends.
