Mary Louise Sellers Williamson of Newport News, Virginia, passed away on June 6, 2026 at the age of 88.
Mary was born on October 23, 1937 at home to Essie Adline and Boyd Lee Sellers in Horry County, S.C. She graduated from Conway High School in Conway S.C. in 1955. Mary married the love of her life, Hubert Lenton Williamson, on December 9, 1955 in Conway S.C., enjoying over seventy years of a wonderful marriage. She was baptized at Tyler Memorial Methodist Church in Hampton, Virginia on April 7, 1963.
Mary made a career in the mortgage business with almost thirty years experience, retiring at age 49 as a Vice President of First Union Mortgage Corp. After retiring, Mary and Hubert enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends at their beach house, first in Nags Head, N.C. and later in Myrtle Beach, S.C. She was always the perfect host, making sure that everyone was fed and had something to do. She especially loved shopping and was ready to go at a moments notice. Mary was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Yorktown, VA. since 1977. She enjoyed serving at her church with singing in the choir and helping with the Wednesday night dinners.
Mary is survived by her husband, Hubert Williamson, daughter Rita Marie Malpass (David), four grandsons, Derek Malpass (Meredith), Christopher Malpass (Meagan), Bauer Lustig (Grace), and Ethan Lustig, one great granddaughter, Eloise Malpass, two brothers, Grady Sellers (Lena), Wayne Sellers (Cathy), and many nieces and nephews, and a special former son-in-law Jeroen Lustig (Brooke) who have remained devoted loving friends to the family.
Mary was preceded in death by twin infant sons, Ronald and Donald Williamson, and one daughter Tena Williamson Lustig.
The celebration of Life service will be held at Bethel Baptist Church, located at 1004 Yorktown Road, Yorktown, Virginia 23692 on Monday June 29, 2026, with the visitation from 12:00-1:00PM and the funeral to follow from 1:00-2:00PM.
