Patricia Beasley-Rachita, 70, passed away on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Pat was a native and lifelong peninsula resident.
She graduated from York High School in 1973 and Emory and Henry College in 1977. She taught at Dinwiddie High School and retired in 1991. After retirement, Patricia volunteered her time to tutor students to help further their education. She was a published author of the book “Piscataway”. She was a member of Newport News Seventh-Day Adventist.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Gouldin Beasley. She is survived by her husband of seventeen (17) years, Vasile Rachita and his daughters Mirela Rachita and Maria Rachita, a brother Wayne Beasley and his wife Sophia, grandson Stefan Mumuruz, and nephew Curtis Beasley, and niece Emily Marie (Beasley) Poe and her husband Eric.
