Robert Earl Curlis Jr., 38, of Quinton, VA passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. He was the son of Robert Curlis Sr. and Elisa Curlis. Robert attended Sussex County Vocational Technical School in Sparta, NJ, where he graduated in 2007.
Robert’s greatest loves were his children and his family. He enjoyed listening to music, going on family vacations, cooking, landscaping, playing video games, riding dirt bikes and four wheelers. Robert excelled at cooking, was a hard worker, and loved with all his heart.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Patricia and Roy Gunderman; aunt, Esther Lorenzo (Stoll), and his beloved niece, Madilynn Curlis.
Robert is survived by his wife, Makayla Curlis; children, Kiera Curlis, Kaisley Curlis, Kayden Curlis, Kinsley Curlis; parents, Robert Sr. and Elisa Curlis; siblings, Jonathon Curlis (Cecilia), Brandon Curlis (Amy Shinault), Ashley Sheets (Shane); grandparents, Ronald and Ruthann Curlis; uncle, Roy Gunderman Jr. (Cindy); aunts, Carol Gunderman, Laura Curlis McInerney, Lisa Haggerty (Allen); nephews, Aiden Kabani, Asher Doggett, David Sheets, Bradlee Curlis, Jayce Curlis, and Cayson Curlis; niece, Harper Sheets; and a host of other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held 12 Noon Friday, June 12, 2026, at Vincent Funeral Home, 9923 Pocahontas Trail, Providence Forge, VA 23140. A viewing will take place on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from 2pm-4pm, and then again from 6pm-8pm, at the funeral home. Interment to follow services in the Sunny Slope cemetery, West Point, VA.
