Lucille Mae Brown Jones, affectionately known as “Cille,” departed this earthly life on June 2, 2026.
Lucille was born on March 22, 1934, to the late Robert Walker and Mary Florence Jones Brown. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Otis M. Jones, Sr.; her daughter, Olivia Dixon; five brothers, Franklin, Evan, William (infant), Willie, and James Brown; and five sisters, Elnora Williams, Daisy Williams, Elsie Johnson, Rosa Johnson, and Louise Mason.
Lucille was educated in Charles City County. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Providence Forge, Virginia . As a devoted homemaker, she spent her life teaching and nurturing her family. Her favorite hobbies included reading, writing poetry, and corresponding with her many pen pals. Lucille’s truly special passion, however, was ensuring that everyone she knew received a birthday card—always adorned with stickers—on their special day.
She leaves to cherish her memory two devoted children: Carolyn Montague (Garland) of Midlothian, VA, and Otis Jones, Jr. (Lori) of Henrico, VA.
She is also survived by three granddaughters: Michele Wilson (Derrick) of Charlotte, NC, Crystal Montague-Holland (Steele) of Hanover, VA, and Chandra Boone (Douglas) of Chester, VA; three grandsons: Otis Jones III (Kayla) of Chesterfield, VA, Shawn Jones of Henrico, VA, and Tevin Dixon (Kiana) of Henrico, VA; three great-grandsons: Christopher Boone, Julian Boone, and Collin Jones; and three great-granddaughters: Taylor Holland, Jordan Wilson, and Heaven-Olivia Dixon.
She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly, including seven who were exceptionally devoted: Dwight Jones, Louis Jones, Jr., Debra Madison, Wilhelmenia Black, Patricia Mason, Ann Otey, and Waddell Otey. She also leaves her goddaughter and special friend, Joyce Cotman Bradby; Kiana Satterwhite Dixon, with whom she shared a uniquely special bond; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
